مدينة أبها هي المقر الإداري وعاصمة منطقة عسير جنوب غرب المملكة العربية السعودية وأهم مدنها، حيث يوجد بها مقر الإمارة وفروع الوزارات الرئيسية. تقع على جبال الحجاز ويجاورها من الشرق والشمال الشرقي محافظة خميس مشيط، ومن الشمال الغربي محافظة النماص، ومن جهة الغرب والجنوب الغربي محافظة محايل عسير ومحافظة رجال ألمع.

المناخ في أبها
يتّسمُ مناخ مدينة أبها بأنّه مناخ معتدل طيلة أيام السنة مقارنةً بباقي مُدن المملكة العربيّة السعوديّة، ويمتاز بهطول الأمطار الغزيرة؛ مِمّا يُساهم في انتشار السهول الخضراء والهضاب الزراعيّة المُحاطة بغابات كثيفة الأشجار بالنسبة للصحارى المحيطة، وعادةً ما يكون فصل الصيف في مدينة أبها طويلاً ودافئاً وغائماً جزئياً، في حين يكون فصل الشتاء فيها قصيراً وبارداً وغالباً ما يكون صافياً دون سُحُب، علماً بأنّ درجات الحرارة في المدينة تتراوح عادةً ما بين 7-28 درجةً مئوية، ونادراً ما تنخفض تحت 5 درجات مئوية، أو ترتفع لأعلى من 31 درجة مئوية.
